Is Perfect Hydration 9.5+ alkaline water the best water brand for you? You’re about to find out in my Perfect Hydration alkaline water review. I’ve been busy this week reviewing bottled alkaline water brands and have become somewhat of an expert in the process.
With all the new bottled alkaline water brands available these days, it can be difficult to choose which one is best for you.
There’s alkaline artesian water, electrolyte-enhanced alkaline water, and ionized water. Which one is the best?
First, let’s check out all the important details of Perfect Hydration alkaline water.
Below, we’ll go over its pH, TDS, ingredients, best place to buy it, the company, and other bits of information that’ll help you decide if Perfect Hydration is legit.

What’s in Perfect Hydration alkaline water?
Here’s a list of the ingredients:
- Purified Water
- Potassium carbonate
- Potassium bicarbonate
- Magnesium sulfate
Right away, I noticed several differences in this brand when compared to other brands I’ve reviewed.
Most bottled alkaline water brands start with reverse osmosis purified water. The Perfect Hydration brand is “purified water,” and I don’t know exactly what that means.
They do advertise a “9-stage filtration process” without detailing the stages.
Also, I noticed they left out calcium in their mineral blend. Most other brands include calcium, magnesium, and potassium in their trace mineral blends.
Personally, I prefer water with fewer minerals since I get most, if not all, of my daily needs from my food and fresh juice. You may prefer more minerals, so the lack of calcium is something to keep in mind.

pH and TDS Test
It’s always a good idea to test the pH of your alkaline water to ensure the water brand is delivering on its pH promise. However, not all pH test strips can accurately measure the pH of drinking water.

To my eye, the pH of Perfect Hydration water appeared even higher than 9.5.
That’s the problem with pH test drops and strips.
If you want to get an accurate pH reading of your water, urine, or other liquids down to the hundredth, I recommend using a pH meter. It’ll last a lot longer than test strips and drops. Plus, you’ll get more accurate readings.
During my research on the ideal pH for drinking water, I concluded that 9.5 is the upper limit. I’ve spent many late nights researching alkaline water, and I have yet to come across any information suggesting that water with a pH above 9.5 is more beneficial.
It’s wise to proceed with caution with alkaline water above 9.5.
TDS
I do like the low TDS of Perfect Hydration water. It’s the lowest I’ve seen in any brand that I’ve reviewed. The water with the next lowest TDS I’ve reviewed is Essentia.
What is TDS? The TDS (total dissolved solids) gives you an idea of how many minerals are in your water. A TDS below 50 is very low.
I’ve seen other brands with higher TDS readings and sodium content. Perfect Hydration has 0mg of sodium per serving, which is a good thing since we don’t need extra sodium in our water. Most of us get more than enough from our food.
Overall, the high pH concerns me a bit, but the TDS looks good to me.
My Perfect Hydration Alkaline Water Review
Since I’ve reviewed more bottled alkaline water brands than most people on Earth, I feel qualified to write an honest, accurate review of this brand.
My Likes
- The low TDS is great to see. I’ve seen other alkaline water brands go overboard with minerals and electrolytes. Anyone can enjoy the benefits of drinking Perfect Hydration alkaline water, not just athletes.
- The pH test proves their water is indeed alkaline with the pH level they advertise on the label.
- No added sodium
- I’m assuming the company uses electrolysis to ionize its water, similar to Essentia Water, but I can’t confirm because of the limited information on their website.
- The contoured shape of the bottle is nice.
- The bottles are BPA-free.
My Dislikes
- Other brands provide more information on their websites about how they filter their water and process it before its bottled. The Perfect Hydration website and Amazon product page don’t offer much information.
- There’s no water report on their website. I like to see a water quality report to get a better idea of what’s in the water.
- I don’t know for sure what their 9-stage filtration process is. Are they using carbon filtration? Reverse osmosis? Perhaps if this article gains enough steam, I’ll contact Perfect Hydration directly to request a water report and additional information.
- There’s no calcium in their trace mineral blend.
- They wrote “gluten-free.” I think we all know that water is gluten-free.
- No listed water source
Overall, I think this brand is delivering purified alkaline water with a high pH.
Final Thoughts
The pH test video above proved to me that this water indeed has a pH of 9.5 or higher. As I mentioned already, I like that it has a lower TDS than other brands I’ve reviewed.
Most people don’t need a lot of minerals in their water since they get their recommended daily intake from food.
Outside of the lack of information on their site, I do give this water brand a thumbs up.
