Here’s the problem with this filter…
These mineral balls are useful, but only after your water has been filtered through other filter media, most commonly activated carbon.
The alkaline minerals in the pH Revive filter do raise the pH of your water. However, they don’t do an adequate job of removing water contaminants.
To remove water contaminants, you need additional filter media to remove them before adding the alkaline minerals to boost the pH.
The “Feed Water” should pass through two types of filter media before it reaches the “Alkaline Beads.”
When you purchase the pH Revive alkaline water filter bottle, all you get is the beads (plus a bit of KDF) minus the granular activated carbon.
The pH Revive filter does include KDF. The problem is the KDF gets mixed together with the alkaline mineral balls. This reduces the KDF’s ability to filter the water on its own.
That’s why the best water filters work in separate stages with finer media to increase the surface area of the filtration media. This process is the best way to get the most out of the filter media.
On top of that, pH Revive recommends replacing the filters once a month, and there’s also conflicting information regarding the presence of KDF in the filter.
Lastly, I couldn’t find a water quality report for the pH Revive filter to verify what contaminants it removes and doesn’t remove.
The Bloated Health Claims
Be careful when you’re shopping for alkaline water products and see the words “HEXAGONAL” and “STRUCTURED” water. This is pseudoscience.
The pH Revive product page lists a number of bloated health benefit claims. The company also claims that its water is “ionized.”
Water ionizers and alkaline water machines make alkaline ionized water, and they require electricity.
Mineral balls in a stick don’t make true ionized water.
Plus, water ionizers don’t add minerals to your feed water. They use the minerals that are already in your tap water to make alkaline ionized water.
This is one of the greatest advantages of owning an ionizer since filters like the pH Revive can overload your water with minerals. The filter in the pH Revive may add unnecessary minerals since most tap water has more than enough minerals already.

In comes Seychelle, one of the most transparent alkaline water brands out there. With just a few clicks, I accessed the water quality report for Seychelle’s alkaline water filter bottle. Granted it’s from 2010, but at least they have one.
Right when I looked at the design of the Seychelle bottle, I knew it was better than the pH Revive.
The filter of the pH revive doesn’t attach to the straw.

Choosing the Best Alkaline Water Filter Bottle
Always remember to look for an alkaline water filter that actually filters your water. “Mineral balls” are only there to add alkaline minerals and boost pH. They don’t do a great job of filtering. Activated carbon is the most common filter media to remove water contaminants.
Overall, the Seychelle filter does the best job of removing impurities.
