In my Proud Source spring water review, I show you exactly what sets this water apart from other top alkaline water brands, where to buy it for the best price in bulk, a pH test video, what current drinkers are saying, and of course, my two cents.

Are you ready to get started?

Let’s start with the pH and TDS tests to see if Proud Source water delivers on its alkaline water promise.

Proud Source Water pH Test

Proud Source claims that its water has a naturally alkaline pH of 8.1.

The young scientist in the video below conducts a pH test to confirm the Proud Source water pH level:

I must say that I’m immediately impressed by Proud Source water. The young man’s pH test shows that Proud Source has a pH of 8.1.

Also, the TDS reading of 132 ppm is perfect for mountain spring water. In case you’re wondering, TDS (total dissolved solids) is a measure of the mineral content in the water.

Alkaline minerals including calcium, magnesium, and potassium are typically what raise the pH of the water to make it more alkaline.

Where to Buy Proud Source Water in Bulk

If you can’t find Proud Source locally, the best place to buy it in bulk is online through Amazon. A lot of people are ordering water online these days to avoid lugging cases home from the supermarket whiles saving money at the same time.

There are several case sizes of Proud Source available. Click the link below to see the current lowest price:

There are also 24 pack, 6 pack, and 4 pack options. I did the math, and the 12 pack option gives you the most bang for your buck.

Now that you know the pH of Proud Source water and where to buy it in bulk, let’s check out what makes this natural spring water so special.

Is this water good for you?

Unlike other alkaline water brands, Proud Source water is 100% natural. All the minerals in this water come from the Earth and are not artificially added.

Here’s a list of minerals found in Proud Source:

  • Calcium
  • Magnesium
  • Potassium
  • Silica

The water also contains chlorides and bicarbonates in safe amounts. Chlorides and bicarbonates are commonly used by bottled alkaline water companies.

The silica content is a nice touch. Most alkaline water brands don’t contain silica.

Where does this water come from?

Proud Source water starts in an aquifer in the Northern Rocky Mountains.

The company later bottles it in Idaho after it’s filtered its way through the Earth. This process allows the water to soak up a healthy dose of minerals along its path.

Proud Source’s facility uses a Gravity Fed Water Supply system and zero energy to extract the water from the Earth.

They definitely have one of the more unique processes I’ve seen of any bottled alkaline water brand.

Now, let’s see what people are saying about Proud Source water.

Proud Source Water Reviews

I always like to check out what current drinkers of a product are saying before I dive in myself. So far, we know that Proud Source is really alkaline and full of healthy alkaline minerals.

I dug through the reviews, and here’s what I found:

  • One drinker wrote one of the more inspiring reviews I came across. She’s found relief for her acid reflux by drinking Proud Source. She said other alkaline water brands didn’t give her the same relief as Proud Source does. There’s also no aftertaste from Proud Source, whereas she noticed one with other brands. I love to read reports of reflux reversal with alkaline water since I did the same thing.
  • One guy loves that the bottles are aluminum and reusable since the environment doesn’t need any more plastic waste. He said the aluminum keeps the water “cold and fresh.”
  • Another person said the taste is “so good” that she “can’t describe it.”
  • One excited person called it the most “thirst-quenching” and “delicious” water in the world.
  • One person reported feeling better “physically” when drinking Proud Source water on a regular basis. I can agree since drinking alkaline water every day for the past year has done the same for me and my health.

My Review

Now it’s time for my Proud Source water review. I feel qualified to deliver you an unbiased and accurate review after reviewing a long list of bottled alkaline water brands.

The process has helped me grow a keen eye for spotting a quality product.

I’ll break my review into two parts: my likes and my dislikes.

My Likes

  • I really, really like the aluminum can idea to cut down on plastic waster. During my alkaline water research, I’ve come to realize how serious of a problem plastic waste is on our planet. The oceans are full of plastic waste. The last thing we need is more plastic waste on Earth, even if it is BPA-free.
  • Proud Source reminds me of Coors Light (my favorite beer), minus the beer part. The design of the bottle is cool, plus the aluminum keeps the water colder longer.
  • The blend of alkaline minerals and optimum TDS are some of the best I’ve seen in any alkaline water brand.
  • I like the added benefit of silica.
  • The pH of 8.1 is within the ideal range for me. I stay between 8 and 9.5.
  • The fact that this water starts in the Rocky Mountains and is 100% natural is a huge bonus.

My Dislikes

  • I’ve noticed a trend among alkaline spring water brands that irritates me. They’re all attacking ionized water and spreading misinformation. Since I drink ionized water every day, and it’s the only water that helped me end my heartburn problem, I don’t like to see these companies attack it. I think it makes Proud Source and others look bad when they spread false information about ionized water to sell more of their own products.
  • One of the reasons I prefer ionized water over domestic spring water extracted from aquifers is the questionable effect extracting water from aquifers has on the environment. Also, what gives companies like Proud Source the right to sell water that’s from a domestic natural source? Is alkaline water the new oil in America?

Final Thoughts

Overall, I think Proud Source naturally alkaline spring water is one of the better bottled alkaline water brands currently on the market.

There are several others that simply add minerals to their water to boost the pH. For example, the popular brand LIFEWTR adds a mineral blend to reverse osmosis water, and their water is still slightly acidic. I actually show you how to make LIFEWTR at home with a reverse osmosis filtration system and a remineralization cartridge for a lot less money.

My one qualm with Proud Source is the extraction of water from domestic aquifers. Should companies be allowed to pull water from natural sources in America, then turn around and sell it for a premium price? Also, what effect does this extraction have on the surrounding environment? I plan to look deeper into this topic in the near future.

However, I do like the idea of metal cans. The growing amount of plastic waste is a very real problem.

What did you think of my Proud Source water review? Did I miss anything or is there anything else you’d like to hear about? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Until next time, cheers!
