Welcome to our guide to choosing the best fluoride water filter pitcher for your home. Since options are limited in this department, we narrowed them down to the top five choices. Fluoride removal is a tricky beast, and its removal is a controversial topic. More and more people – including myself – are deciding to err on the side of caution by investing in water filters that effectively remove fluoride.
Before now, there were limited options to remove fluoride. No one would have thought that a water filter pitcher would someday remove fluoride. Then again, no one would have ever thought that we would someday have LCD phones in our pockets that play our favorite music.
In this guide, you’ll learn which five water filter pitcher brands are the best for fluoride removal, where to buy them for the best price, and several additional tips to make your shopping experience as smooth as silk.
Let’s start with a helpful chart.

Fluoride Water Filter Pitcher Buyer’s Guide
What did you think of our top 5 picks for best fluoride water filter pitcher? In this section, we’ll go over how we chose these 5 pitchers (and 1 filter). We promise that if you’re still undecided, you’ll know for sure which pitcher is for you by the end of our guide.
Let’s start with the price.
Price & Replacement Filters
Price is a key consideration since you don’t want to be paying an arm and a leg for replacement filters. The good news is that all 5 of these pitchers have a longer filter life than Brita Standard filters and the notoriously slow Brita Longlast filter.
Aqua Crest filters are more affordable than Brita Standard filters and have the ability to reduce fluoride. However, if you’re serious about reducing 90% or more of the fluoride in your tap water, we recommend sticking with one of the 5 pitchers.
Here’s a rundown of the pitchers from highest cost to most affordable:
- Clearly Filtered
- Aquagear
- Seychelle pH2O
- Epic Pure
- Reshape Water
Seychelle doesn’t lag too far behind, yet over time, you’ll feel the price difference compared to Clearly Filtered and Aquagear. Also, a set of Seychelle filters lasts the longest of the 4 brands. The Epic Pure pitcher is almost the same price as the Seychelle.
Reshape water is significantly more affordable, and a 5-pack of filters #ad is currently available at Amazon for a very reasonable price. To check the current price for each pitcher, click any of the links above to go directly to the Amazon product page.
Alkaline Water Filter Pitcher or Standard?
Depending on your taste and goals, you may prefer an alkaline water filter pitcher over a standard water filter pitcher. Here’s a list of the advantages of choosing an alkaline pitcher:
- Most people prefer the sweeter taste of alkaline water over the more bitter flavor of acidic water
- People who drink alkaline water often experience health benefits, including reversal of heartburn and acid reflux
- It’s better to get a healthy dose of essential minerals in your water than drinking demineralized water such as plain reverse osmosis water or ZeroWater
Which pitchers make alkaline water?
Seychelle pH2O and Reshape are designed to boost pH by adding alkaline minerals to your filtered water. I previously wrote an Aquagear water filter pitcher review, and while their pitcher doesn’t intentionally boost pH, it does leave essential alkaline minerals intact. For this reason, Aquagear is one of our top picks across the board.
We have yet to find a better overall water filter pitcher than the Seychelle pH2O, as it continues to impress us. We recommend our complete Seychelle review for a closer look at the Seychelle pitcher.
Fluoride Removal
Of the four pitchers, Clearly Filtered removes the most fluoride at up to 98.2%. Does that mean it’s the best? Not necessarily. Once a pitcher filter achieves 80% or more fluoride reduction, the amount of fluoride becomes negligible.
Not only is it difficult to remove 100%, but one would need very expensive equipment to get readings in that range. A basic TDS meter reads in the ppm or parts per million range. One would need to go beyond ppb (parts per billion) to confirm 100% removal.
The bottom line is all 5 of these pitchers remove a significant amount of fluoride, and they’re the only quality pitchers currently available that are designed to remove fluoride.
Why no ZeroWater?
Earlier this week, we compared ZeroWater vs Brita, and we found some interesting information about the ZeroWater brand.
ZeroWater hides behind its included TDS meter that supposedly proves there’s no fluoride in your water since the TDS is 0 ppm. This is dubious marketing at its finest. Remember, there’s less than 1 ppm of fluoride to start, so how could the meter pick up a fluoride reading below 1 ppm?
ZeroWater goes a step further to protect itself by stating that its filters aren’t certified to reduce fluoride, yet they remove 99% of fluoride.
I’m not falling for this trick, and it’s irritating that ZeroWater has led people to believe that 0 TDS water is better for them. ZeroWater filters also have an extremely short life and will cost you a bundle. You’re much better off investing in an under-sink reverse osmosis system with remineralization for effective fluoride removal.
Lastly, I looked all over the ZeroWater website and couldn’t find a water quality report that includes fluoride. One of the reasons we like Seychelle is company transparency. Plus, their filters are American-made.
Seychelle posts its water quality lab results for its filters online. Until ZeroWater posts test results from a certified lab showing how much fluoride their filters remove, I’m not buying it. Once they do, we’ll recommend their pitcher for fluoride reduction.

Bottom Line
We’re confident that if you made it this far, you’ve already chosen the best fluoride water filter pitcher for your home. Overall, it’s hard to go wrong with any of the 5 pitchers in our top 5. As you already know, we’re big fans of Seychelle and Aquagear.
Depending on your taste, alkaline water may not be important to you. Purity comes first anyway, and all of these filters do an outstanding job of removing water contaminants. We also love the longer filter life and the fact that the pitchers are made in the USA. Water filtration is one of those things that’s worth investing in, just like good food.
Nothing is more important than good health, and nothing is better at making a healthier you than healthy pure water.
