One of the most exciting aspects of this water brand is that it comes from Iceland. Iceland possesses some of the rarest scenic beauty and pristine landscapes in the world.
Just the thought of drinking up that beauty from a bottle of water excites me.
Icelandic’s water source is the Ölfus Spring. According to Icelandic, the water filters its way through the volcanic rock for thousands of years before they bottle it.
Along the way, the water picks up minerals that naturally boost its pH to an alkaline level. A pH of 8.4 is one of the highest natural pH values I’ve seen of any alkaline spring water brand.
The Icelandic bottling facility also has a Carbon Neutral certificate. They’re definitely running one of the greenest operations on Earth.

Now for my Icelandic Glacial water review. I’ve reviewed many bottled water companies and have grown a keen eye for spotting who bottles the best water.
Likes
- Once upon a time, I managed casino construction in Las Vegas as a project manager. During that period of my life, I passed the LEED AP exam to become a LEED accredited professional, so I know a thing or two about green building. Icelandic’s green facility is the most impressive I’ve seen of any water company.
- The pH and TDS are perfect for me. The alkaline ionized water I drink every day has a pH between 8 and 9.5.
- I prefer fluoride-free water, and Icelandic ticks that box.
- Icelandic provides its water quality report on its website. I appreciate water companies that are more transparent and have nothing to hide.
- There’s nothing pretentious about Icelandic’s marketing. I’ve seen other companies with sales pitches that are built to appeal to the consumer and nothing more. I can tell that Icelandic is a legit company that takes pride in its product.
- The taste reports for this water are impressive.
- The age of Icelandic’s water is the oldest I’ve seen of any brand.
- The water is 100% natural, nothing is added to boost the pH.
- The bottle (including the cap and label) is rPET, BPA-free, and 100% recyclable.
- Icelandic stresses that its spring water source replenishes itself through rainfall and snowmelt. I have yet to see another company make this point, and it’s one of my main concerns about domestic water companies that are bottling artesian water on U.S. soil.
Dislikes
- Zero. Icelandic is the best bottled alkaline spring water brand I’ve ever reviewed, and I don’t see how any company could possibly surpass them. Feel free to check my other reviews to see that I usually have several dislikes. The only thing I will say is that I drink alkaline ionized water every day, not alkaline spring water.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Icelandic Glacial is the most impressive bottled water company I’ve reviewed. Considering how impressed I am by this company and their water, I put them #1 on my list of alkaline spring water and artesian brands.
The pH level is perfect, the TDS is optimal, the water source is pristine, the company is green, the bottles are 100% recyclable, and the list goes on.
