Hello Nancy, it depends on what’s making your soil acidic. Water with an alkaline pH can temporarily raise the pH, though, whatever is making the soil acidic will most likely bring it back down. Over time, it could change the soil pH if the water washes away the source of acidity, but even then, it’s really only the diminishing source of acidity rather than the pH of the water. If you want to raise the pH, it’s better to use water with a pH buffer such as dolomite lime or gypsum since alkaline drinking water doesn’t contain long-lasting pH buffers. I hope that helps 🙂
